Throughout the year, we run Academy leagues to provide match experience and build upon the required maths, chalking and game play skills for competitive darts.

Typically there are 3 leagues;

  • 301 Greenzone finish
  • 501 Greenzone finish
  • 501 Double Out (scratch game) finish.

Members will be allocated a league based on the following criteria: routine average over entire previous season (whether achieving a handicap or not), tournament or match experience (e.g. may be new to the JDC routine but plays regularly in local leagues), handicap and then ability (judged by coaches). This is to ensure as even a playing field as possible for members. Specific groups will be communicated ahead of the league start date for member review.

Format is changeable but typically it is first to 2 in group stages.

League Rules – in addition to standard Darts playing rules as set by the DRA.

  1. Dart Etiquette applies at all times
  2. Play begins with bull up to determine order of throw.
  3. Loser of a match chalks the next match – coaches will support when required
  4. If a player fails to turn up to a session and does not notify us in advance, they will forfeit their match and the opponent awarded the win.
  5. If both players of a scheduled match fail to turn up and do not notify us in advance, they will forfeit their match and tie at 0 points.
  6. We will roll-over matches for a maximum of 3 weeks at group stages, 2 weeks from quarters onwards, regardless of whether notified of intended absence or not. If a match is still not played, the member who forced the match to be unplayable on its original planned date will forfeit, or again if both players were not in attendance, a forfeit tie will be recorded.
  7. Repeated non-attendance with no notice will result in forfeiture of division standings place. A member may not proceed to beyond group stages if not seen for 3 weeks+ with no notice.
  8. Division standings and placements rely on all payments being up to date.
